Follow the Money

For those of you who don't wish to live in the serendipitous state of denial, read the article: "Henry Paulson and the Five Circles of Economic Hell," by Robert Freeman, published on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 by Common Dreams .org. Robert Freeman writes about economics, history and education. His analysis of the approaching economic cataclysm is based on fact not politician's fiction. I do not think we will be able to avoid the train wreck. The current political system and both parties, are too entrenched in kow-towing to big money. If the elected representative is not personally wealthy, he/she is beholden to wealthy contributors. They are addicted to power, to lining their own pockets, and to turning a blind eye to the mounting problems of their constituencies. Their constituencies are busy turning a blind eye to reality. Human greed fuels the whole rotten structure. The far-right and their poster boy Bush are merrily creating an oligarchy and want to destroy all social safety-net programs. This has been their agenda from the get-go, and they are not about to stop, when their goal is so close at hand. Any middle class person who votes for these barbarians is inherently self-destructive. We will be seeing an escalting barrage of Rovian tactics in the coming months, all aimed at producing fear and hysteria among the gullible. The real threat, however, is the right-wing Republican Party. The elephant is on a rampage.
